While the seventh grades were at camp, the sixth and eighth grades participated in two activities: building a structure our of marshmallows and toothpicks and creating a catapult.
The challenge with the marshmallows and toothpicks was to build the highest, free-standing structure. The winning structure was 36 centimeters tall.
The challenge with the catapult was distance and accuracy. 
One of our semester classes for middle school is forensics/drama. This year’s group chose the play, “Law and Order, Fairy Tale Unit”. After practicing and preparing all semester, the play was performed for our school community.
Every year our seventh graders spend 2 days at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya.
The purpose?:
Building a stronger sense of community in the class
Learning about different cultures and how we adapt to different cultures
Having a chance to try different winter activities like snow shoeing, cross country skiing and ice fishing
Learning about predators and prey in a winter environment
Having fun
