These two 5th graders competed against other GRACE middle school students at today’s competition. What an accomplishment!
In 2004, teacher Nick Nesvacil and a group of Preble High School students formed “StingCancer to raise cancer awareness and to help those affected by cancer. St. Bernard School is proud to help in the fight. Today we raised money for cancer research by selling lemonade. Some of our students cut their hair and donated it to Pantene which makes wigs for people who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy. Some of our students and teachers shaved their heads and made a contribution to cancer research.
The fifth graders studied the steps to follow for performing a scientific experiment. Then they were responsible for creating their own experiment.
They had to:
- Make an Observation.
- Form a Question.
- Form a Hypothesis. …
- Conduct an Experiment. …
- Analyse the Data and Draw a Conclusion.

Please join us to watch our 8th graders present the Living Stations. They researched the Gospels, then wrote the script, prayers and reflections. They made the costumes, created the artwork and practiced, practiced, practiced.
It is a great way to begin Holy Week. Please join us for prayer on Monday, March 26th at 2 pm or 6:45 pm or on Tuesday, March 27th at 2 pm.
A large group of our middle school students went to Appleton Xavier for the annual Math Bowl competition with other Catholic schools in our Diocese. We are very pleased and proud to announce an individual winner – Joseph in the seventh grade competition; and a team winner also in the seventh grade competition – Ben, Joseph, Logan and Christopher.
Congratulation to Mrs. MacDonald, middle school math teacher, and all the particpants. Go Bears!
